Welcome to the Scottish Catholic Guardian (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using scottishcatholicguardian.co.uk (the “Site”).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Site in any manner, including but not limited to visiting or browsing the Site or contributing content or other materials to the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of these Terms, then you may not access the Site or use any services.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. The most current version of these Terms will supersede all previous versions. 3. Use of the Site

a. Access to the Site

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable, limited license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not use the Site for any other purpose without our prior written consent.

b. User Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Use the Site in any way that may interfere with, disrupt, negatively affect, or inhibit other users from fully enjoying the Site, or that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the functioning of the Site.
  • Use the Site to collect or store personal information about others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Site.
  • Use the Site for any illegal or unauthorized purpose or engage in, encourage, or promote any illegal activity.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or reverse engineer any portion of the Site.
  • Remove or modify any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notice that appears on the Site or on any materials printed or copied from the Site.
  • Use any robot, spider, site search/retrieval application, or other automated device, process, or means to access, retrieve, scrape, or index any portion of the Site.
  • Transmit any viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, or any items of a destructive nature through the Site.

c. Content

You are solely responsible for any content you contribute to the Site, including but not limited to text, images, audio material, comments, video material, and links (collectively, “Content”). By contributing Content to the Site, you represent and warrant that you have the right to do so and that the Content does not violate any applicable laws, regulations, or rights of any third party.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

The Site and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the Scottish Catholic Guardian and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws. You agree not to reproduce, modify, distribute, display, perform, or create derivative works of any part of the Site except as expressly authorized by us.

5. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Site immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Site will immediately cease.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Scottish Catholic Guardian, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Site; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Site; (iii) any content obtained from the Site; and (iv) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Scottish Catholic Guardian and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages (actual and consequential), losses, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from or in any way related to your breach of these Terms or your use of the Site.

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [insert jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
